Upperville Community Comes Together for Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Groundbreaking

Community working togetherSunday, February 2, the congregation, neighbors, and friends of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Upperville, VA celebrate the beginning of a renovation and addition to the 100 year old house of God
On a beautiful and warm mid-winter day the congregation and friends of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church joined together to celebrate the beginning of the renovation and addition to the 100 year old house of God. Reverend Philip Lewis and Deacon Melvin Warner lead the attendees in prayer and thanksgiving for the opportunity that has been afforded by generous donations of members and friends.

The project includes upgrading the facilities to ADA standards, upgrading the kitchen, and adding a fellowship hall, entryway, and terrace.

The church has been planning and raising the funds for the project for many years.  Architect James Hricko of Warrenton designed the space with Reverend Philip Lewis’ wishes in mind, that it “look like it has always been here.”  Truly, the church almost has.  It has been the center of worship and fellowship for 5 generations of many families in attendance.  Congregants were present whose grandparents and grandchildren attend.

President Phil Clark commented that the project “deserves the care and dedication that this church has provided for its community.”
